Sweet breads, woven breads,
with walnuts, with raisins, with genuine love. The five senses awake for
three days: the aromas, the customs of the foreign Countries that had
come to give testimony of their traditions, of their roots. . . the
music, the embraces. The small jewel of Savigliano
transformed into a great festivity of fragrances, of tastes, of friendly
faces.
In the main square, in front of
thousands of enthused people, the youngsters of Beresheet LaShalom gave
one of their most beautiful performances. Together on stage, the Theatre of
Truths and the Arcobaleno-Rainbow Theatre, junior and senior actors
from 13 to 25 years old, of all colours and of all flavours.
We found ourselves before a
public of extraordinary sensibility: sensitive to the
sufferings and to the efforts of peace. We met with local youngsters in
schools,
the
untiring and dedicated organizers, people who made a thousand
efforts to make our stay an unforgettable experience.
We were graciously received by
the Mayor and the City Council and other prominent public figures
including the Mayor of Turin, who arrived for the show. The Region
of Piedmont blessed us with a gift and on our last day we were hosted at
the Thermal Baths of Vinadio, on the
Cozie Alps bordering with France. . . yet
another experience embedded in the heart and soul of each of our
youngsters, hopelessly
in love with Italy and its people!
